General
-
Bad World is the home of some of the world's most ambitious and unusual vinyl releases.
We're the team behind Blood Records, and Bad World is where we push physical formats even further — including our signature liquid and dry-filled vinyl.
Every Bad World release is available through a time-limited pre-order we call a Vault.
-
Liquid-filled vinyl contains a sealed chamber filled with liquid, creating a moving visual effect as the record is handled and played.
Each record is individually manufactured and, due to the nature of the process, the appearance and movement of the liquid can vary from copy to copy.
-
Dry-filled vinyl uses a sealed chamber containing physical material rather than liquid.
The contents move as the record is handled and played, creating a different effect on every copy.
As with our liquid-filled releases, natural variation between individual records is part of the manufacturing process.

Absolutely. Send your suggestion to info@bad-world.co.uk

Vaults & Availability
-
A Vault is a time-limited pre-order window.
Rather than manufacturing a fixed number of copies before a release goes on sale, we open the Vault for a set period and take orders during that window.
When the countdown ends, the Vault closes. We then manufacture the release based on the number of valid orders received.
The Vault closing date is not the release or shipping date. The expected shipping date will be shown separately on the product page.
-
This varies between releases. Each product page displays a countdown showing how long remains before that Vault closes.
If you want a release, make sure you place your order before the countdown reaches zero.
-
No. Bad World releases are pressed to order rather than manufactured to a quantity fixed before the Vault opens.
The final production quantity is based on the number of valid orders received while the Vault is open.
We may manufacture a small number of additional copies for operational purposes, such as replacements, but these don't form part of a predetermined advertised edition size.
-
Once the countdown ends, the Vault closes and new orders can no longer be placed through that ordering window.
We then confirm the required production quantity and begin manufacturing the release.
Manufacturing specialist vinyl takes time, so the expected shipping date will be shown separately on the product page.
-
Yes, occasionally. A Vault may be reopened at a later date, for example where an artist or label asks us to make the release available again.
A Vault closing therefore doesn't necessarily mean that the product will never be available again.
If a Vault is reopened, we'll announce it through our usual channels.
-
The best way is to follow us on social media and join our Mailing List or SMS alerts.
We announce Vault openings (and re-openings) through these channels, and will often tease upcoming releases beforehand.
-
Some of the products we create are significantly more complex to manufacture than conventional vinyl.
The Vault model allows us to determine demand before manufacturing begins, rather than setting a fixed production quantity in advance.
-
We retain a small number primarily for our archive, quality control and future reference.
We may also manufacture a small number of additional copies for operational purposes, including replacements.

Orders & Pre-Orders
-
Order confirmations are normally sent shortly after checkout.
First, check your junk or spam folder and make sure you're checking the inbox for the email address used at checkout.
If you have a Bad World account, you can also check your order history there.
If you're still unsure whether your order was successful, contact us before placing another order and we'll take a look.
-
Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and the correct email address.
We'll do our best to help.
-
If your order hasn't entered fulfilment yet, we may be able to change your delivery address.
Contact us as soon as possible using the same email address used to place the order and include your order number and the correct delivery address.
Once an order has entered fulfilment or been dispatched, we can't guarantee that an address change will be possible.
-
If you'd like to cancel an order before dispatch, contact us as soon as possible.
We recommend getting in touch at least 5 working days before the expected shipping date. This gives us the best opportunity to stop the order before it enters fulfilment.
Once fulfilment has started, we can't guarantee that we'll be able to cancel the order before it ships.
Where we're able to cancel before dispatch, your refund will be returned to your original payment method.
-
Unless otherwise stated, an order containing products with different expected shipping dates will normally ship once all products within that shipment are available.
This means a product that is ready earlier may be held until another product in the same shipment is ready.

Shipping & Tracking
-
We ship to a wide range of international destinations.
There are a small number of locations we may be unable to ship to. Available shipping options and prices will be shown at checkout.
-
The expected shipping date will be shown on the product page.
Remember that the date a Vault closes is not the shipping date. Manufacturing begins after the ordering window closes.
Expected dates are estimates and can occasionally change due to manufacturing, artist or label scheduling, logistics or other circumstances outside our control.
If there's a significant change, we'll endeavour to update the relevant product information and/or contact affected customers where appropriate.
-
Expected shipping dates are estimates rather than guaranteed dates.
Bad World products can involve specialist and complex manufacturing processes, and delays can occasionally happen during production, quality control, artist or label scheduling, logistics or other circumstances outside our control.
During particularly busy release periods, processing a large number of orders can also take a little longer.
If there's a significant change to an expected date, we'll endeavour to update the product information and/or contact affected customers where appropriate.
-
Once your order has been dispatched, you'll normally receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking information.
Please check your junk or spam folder if you haven't received it.
-
Not necessarily. Tracking can take some time to update after your parcel has been handed to the carrier, particularly during busy periods.
If your order has only recently been dispatched, please allow some time for the first tracking update to appear.
-
Delivery times vary depending on your location and the shipping service used.
Available delivery services and estimated delivery times will be displayed at checkout.
Please remember, delivery estimates begin from dispatch, not from the date you placed your order.
International deliveries can also take longer due to customs processing and local postal services.
-
Carrier delays happen occasionally, so please allow:
- UK orders: up to 10 working days from the expected delivery date.
- International orders: up to 20 working days from the expected delivery date.
If your order still hasn't arrived after this time, contact us and we'll investigate it with the carrier.
You don't need to wait this long if your tracking clearly shows a problem — for example, if the parcel has been returned to sender, delivered somewhere incorrect or damaged in transit.
-
First, check around your property, any nominated safe place and with anyone else at your address who may have accepted the parcel.
It's also worth checking with neighbours where appropriate and reviewing any delivery photograph or information provided by the carrier.
If you still can't locate the parcel, contact us with your order number and tracking information and we'll help investigate.
-
Contact us if your tracking shows that your parcel is being returned to sender.
Once the returned order has been received and processed, we can determine the appropriate next step, which may include redelivery or a refund.
Additional shipping costs may apply where a delivery failed because incorrect or incomplete delivery information was provided, the parcel wasn't collected or delivery was refused.

International Orders
-
International orders can be subject to VAT, customs duties, import taxes, handling charges or other fees depending on the destination and order.
Where taxes are collected by us at checkout, this will be shown when you place your order.
For charges that aren't collected by us, additional amounts may be payable to your local customs authority, postal operator or courier.
-
For eligible orders imported into the EU, we use the Import One Stop Shop (IOSS).
Where your order qualifies, applicable VAT will be collected at checkout and accounted for by us through IOSS. This is intended to prevent the same VAT being collected again when your parcel enters the EU.
IOSS only applies to qualifying orders within the scheme's limits and doesn't cover every customs duty or charge that could potentially apply.
-
If VAT was collected by us at checkout and you're being asked to pay the same import VAT again, please don't assume the charge is correct.
Check what the carrier or customs authority is actually asking you to pay, as the charge may relate to something other than VAT.
If you believe you've been incorrectly charged VAT twice, contact our customer service team with your order number and details or evidence of the charge so we can investigate.

Returns, Damages & Problems
-
If you have an applicable statutory cancellation or withdrawal right, you should contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.
Please contact us before sending anything back so we can provide the correct return instructions.
Products should be returned in their original condition with their components and packaging where reasonably possible.
-
Certain sealed vinyl records may lose their statutory change-of-mind cancellation or withdrawal right once the seal has been broken.
This doesn't affect your rights if the product is faulty, damaged, defective or not as described.
If you're unsure, contact us before returning the record.
-
For eligible change-of-mind returns, you're normally responsible for the cost of returning the product.
If something needs to be returned because it is faulty, damaged, incorrect or because of an error we're responsible for, we'll cover reasonable return postage costs or provide an appropriate prepaid return method.
Please contact us before returning anything.
-
Contact us as soon as possible and include:
- Your order number.
- A description of the problem.
- Clear photographs showing the damage.
- Photos of the product, packaging and shipping packaging where relevant.
We may also ask for a short video if it would help us assess the problem.
Providing everything above in your first message will help us resolve the issue more quickly.
Depending on the issue, available stock and your applicable consumer rights, we may offer a replacement component, partial refund, complete replacement or refund.
-
Vinyl can occasionally move inside its packaging during transit, which can cause seam splits to inner or outer sleeves.
Where possible, we remove the record and inner sleeve from the outer sleeve before shipping to help prevent this. For some releases and packaging formats, this isn't possible.
If your order arrives with a significant seam split or other damage to the inner or outer sleeve, contact us with your order number and clear photographs showing the issue.
Where replacement components are available, we may be able to replace the affected sleeve rather than the entire release. Because Bad World products are manufactured to order, spare components aren't always available and another resolution may be offered.
-
Contact us with your order number, a description of what you received and clear photographs of the item.
We'll take a look and arrange the appropriate resolution.
-
Contact us with your order number and tell us what's missing.
If possible, include photographs of everything you received, including the shipping packaging.
We'll investigate it for you.

Vinyl Care & Troubleshooting
-
A skipping record isn't always caused by a fault with the vinyl.
First, make sure the record is clean and free from dust or debris. We also recommend checking that your turntable is correctly set up, particularly the tracking force, tonearm and anti-skate where these are adjustable.
Some entry-level turntables with non-adjustable tonearms can be more prone to skipping, particularly on louder or bass-heavy records.
If possible, try the record on another correctly configured turntable.
If you're still experiencing the same issue, contact us with your order number and a short video showing the problem. Please also let us know which turntable you're using.
-
Some light surface noise can occur with vinyl playback, particularly before a new record has been cleaned.
Check the record for visible dust or debris and clean it using a suitable vinyl brush or cleaning solution. It's also worth checking your stylus is clean and your turntable is correctly set up.
If the problem is persistent or unusually noticeable, try the record on another turntable if possible.
Still not right? Contact us with your order number and, where possible, a short video demonstrating the issue.
-
Static can build up on vinyl during manufacturing, handling, storage and playback, and can attract dust or contribute to pops and crackles.
A suitable anti-static record brush can help reduce static before playing. You can also consider using an anti-static inner sleeve for storage.
Avoid wiping the record with household cloths or materials that aren't designed for vinyl, as these can create additional static or damage the playing surface.
-
Vinyl records aren't always completely flat, and a small amount of movement while spinning doesn't necessarily affect playback.
If the warp is significant enough to affect playback, cause the stylus to jump or prevent the record from playing correctly, contact us with your order number and a short video showing the record spinning on your turntable.
Please don't attempt to flatten a warped record using heat, heavy objects or other DIY methods before contacting us, as this can often permanently damage it.
-
Check the playback speed shown on the release and make sure your turntable is set accordingly.
Most of our releases play at either 33⅓ RPM or 45 RPM, but this can vary between releases.
If the speed is correct but playback still sounds noticeably too fast or slow, check your turntable setup or test the record on another turntable if possible.
-
Yes. Bad World products are created using highly specialised physical manufacturing processes, and natural variation between individual copies is expected.
The exact appearance, colours, positioning, distribution and movement of effects can vary between records. With liquid or dry-filled products, the contents and effect may also settle or move differently from the copy shown in product photography.
Product photography and mock-ups therefore show a typical example rather than an exact representation of every individual copy.
No two copies will necessarily look exactly alike.
If you believe your record has a genuine manufacturing fault rather than a natural manufacturing variation, contact us with your order number and clear photographs showing the issue.
-
Not necessarily. Vinyl is a physical product and minor cosmetic marks can occur during manufacturing, handling and packaging.
A cosmetic mark that doesn't affect playback isn't necessarily a manufacturing fault.
If you've received a record with significant physical damage or a mark that affects playback, contact us with clear photographs and, where appropriate, a short video demonstrating the problem.
-
Try to handle records by the outer edge and labelled centre rather than touching the playing surface.
Fingerprints, oils and dirt can build up in the grooves and affect playback over time.
Return the record to its inner sleeve after playing it.
-
Store records vertically rather than stacking them flat on top of one another.
Keep them somewhere dry and away from excessive heat, humidity and direct sunlight. Excessive heat can permanently warp vinyl.
Avoid tightly overpacking records on a shelf — they should remain upright but still be easy to remove.
Because Bad World products can use unusual materials and specialist construction, follow any additional storage instructions supplied with the product.
-
For everyday cleaning, use a carbon-fibre or suitable vinyl brush to gently remove loose dust from the record.
For a deeper clean, use a cleaning product specifically designed for vinyl records and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Avoid household cleaners, abrasive materials or other products that aren't intended for vinyl.
Make sure the record is completely dry before returning it to its sleeve or playing it.
Due to the filled-element of Bad World product, we do not recommend using ultrasonic cleaning or similar machines to clean our products.
-
You don't have to, but a gentle clean can help remove dust or small amounts of debris left from manufacturing and packaging.
A suitable vinyl brush is usually enough before the first play.
-
Dust and debris on your stylus can cause distortion, skipping and surface noise even when the record itself is clean.
Use a stylus brush or cleaning product specifically designed for the purpose and follow the manufacturer's instructions for your cartridge.
Never use excessive force on the stylus.
-
If you've tried the troubleshooting above and believe there's a fault with your record, contact us and include:

- Which track and side are affected, where applicable.
- The make and model of turntable you're using.
- A short video clearly demonstrating the issue.

Re-Selling
-
Bad World products are sold with genuine fans and collectors in mind, and we don't support purchasing our releases primarily for commercial resale.
We may cancel or reduce orders where we reasonably believe an order has been placed primarily for unauthorised commercial resale or where other purchasing restrictions have been circumvented.
We may also restrict future purchases where these conditions are repeatedly breached.
This doesn't prevent the lawful resale of a record you already own where that resale cannot legally be restricted.
-
We use a number of measures to protect orders from fraud, suspicious purchasing activity and purchasing primarily for unauthorised commercial resale.
If an order or account has been restricted and you believe we've made a mistake, contact our customer service team and we'll review it.
